CASE STUDY

Forest & Bird blog

The coolest bird there is, the rock wren, wasn't even nominated in Forest & Bird’s ‘Bird of the Year’ 2012 poll. I got in touch with them and supplied a blog piece and poster.

It was late in the day and most people had already voted but, by sharing the rock wren's plight with a few tramping and mountaineering groups online, I ensured the tiny bird from the top of the mountains was not forgotten.

Online poster for rock wren, Bird of the Year campaign

Keeping it relevant

I designed the poster, shown here, to be fun and eye-catching, first getting permission from the photographer to use his excellent image.

The blog content was written in short, snappy sections and touched on pest control – one of Forest & Bird’s awareness objectives for the campaign.
